Alarming Statistics of Individuals Now Engage in Vaping, States Global Health Authority
More than 100 million users, comprising at minimum 15 million minors, presently use e-cigarettes, driving a recent surge of nicotine addiction, per recent worldwide medical findings.

E-cigarettes are driving a "fresh wave" of nicotine dependency, commented a senior health official. "They are advertised as damage limitation but, in reality, are ensnaring children on nicotine sooner and risk weakening generations of advancement."
Young People Being 'Targeted'
"Numerous of citizens are quitting, or refraining from tobacco usage because of tobacco restriction efforts by countries throughout the world," the representative said.
"In response to this substantial progress, the tobacco sector is resisting with recent nicotine items, actively focusing on adolescents. Governments must respond faster and more vigorously in enacting established tobacco-control policies," he continued.
The vaping figures are a projection since some countries - 109 in sum, and many in African and South-East Asia - fail to collect information.
According to the report, as of February this year, at least 86 million e-cigarette individuals were adults, primarily in wealthy nations.
And at minimum 15 million teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 currently use e-cigarettes, per research from 123 states.
While numerous states have made efforts to establish e-cigarette regulations to combat underage vaping in the past few years, by the close of 2024, 62 nations still had no regulation in operation, and 74 states had no minimum age at which e-cigarettes are allowed to be purchased, reports the medical authority.
Meanwhile, tobacco usage has been decreasing - from an estimated 1.38 billion individuals in 2000 to 1.2 billion in 2024.
Frequency of tobacco use among females dropped the largest - from 11% in 2010 to 6.6% in 2024.
With men, the decrease was from 41.4% in 2010 to 32.5% in 2024.
But one in five of mature individuals internationally even now employs tobacco.
