Plane Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft carrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane landed following standard protocol and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson stated in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event does not mark the first occasion that a American defense plane transporting a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington after experiencing a mechanical problem.
