The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA Debut
This young athlete boasts impressive social media presence
The young golfer can count on multiple high-profile backers when she makes her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
The former president, a passionate golfer, owns numerous courses worldwide and often plays against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, told her: "Just stay calm."
"He practically suggested to play and relax," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has played in only three events recently and maintains position 461 in AJGA rankings.
However she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.
"He represents the top athlete worldwide," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a more impressive individual. He told me to compete, relax, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple most prominent players in women's golf at this tournament, such as world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that her participation exposes the sport to new audiences, particularly with younger fans.
The social media influencer has a massive following and recently launched an exclusive apparel and wellness company.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
