This event resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A young child was among those injured during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
